What is a whitelist?
A whitelist allows only specified IP addresses to access API endpoints, in contrast to a blacklist. When an IP whitelist is set, only the listed IPs can make API requests.
Purpose of a whitelist:
A whitelist enhances API user account data security and controls access. Only IP addresses on the whitelist can access the API, while other IP addresses are blocked. Without a whitelist, IP address access is unrestricted.
How to set up a whitelist:
1. Log in to the API account and click “Settings” in the top right corner of the dashboard: Login | 17TRACK
2. Under the IP whitelist section, enter the allowed IP addresses and click “+” to add them to the whitelist.
3. After adding the IP addresses, click the “Save” button to apply the changes.
Please note:
- Setting up a whitelist is optional.
- Whitelist changes will take effect within a few minutes; please wait patiently if they do not apply immediately.
